What are churros?

Churros are star shaped lengths of dough fried at high temperatures until they’re light and crunchy, typically rolled in sugar and dipped in warm melted chocolate.

Are they vegan? 

Some churros recipes include eggs and butter but we prefer the traditional method comprising mainly of flour, water and salt. This makes them suitable for vegans.

Are churros gluten free? 

Unfortunately not, our flour contains gluten. Many of our delicious ice creams are gluten free however.

Are the churros fresh?

We cook all our orders while you wait as your churros taste best when freshly cooked. They contain no preservatives so should be eaten within a few hours.

What oil are churros fried in? 

We cook our churros in high oleic oil. It has a  very neutral taste and being high in monounsaturated fat is regarded as good for heart health.

Where in the world are churros popular?

Churros are particularly popular in Spain, Portugal and South American countries, although they are gaining in prominence all over the world.

What gives churros their distinctive star shape?

Churros are piped through a star shaped nozzle to give them the ridges necessary to cook them thoroughly and make them crunchy.

What is Dulce De Leche? 

Dulce de leche is a sauce created by slowly heating milk and sugar for several hours. As the milk evaporates it thickens and turns a rich brown colour. In Latin America it’s the preferred topping for churros.

Are churros similar to doughnuts?

Although the basic ingredients are similar, churros are made with unyeasted dough.
